The Silent Disappearance of Octopus โš ๏ธ

Octopuses, like any other edible species in our #ocean, are facing immense pressure from overfishing. The numbers are alarming:

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น In Italy, nearly 3,000 tons of octopuses are caught each year,
๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ท In Greece, an average of 2,000 tons,
๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ In Spain, over 1,600 tons.

These figures represent the deaths of hundreds of thousands of octopuses annually โ€“ and they exclude both recreational and illegal catches: the actual impact is far greater.

We're back in the #MediterraneanSea, removing every illegal #octopus trap we find. Join us in protecting this highly intelligent and sensitive species:

๐Ÿ›‘ Help stop the demand - Do NOT consume octopus
๐Ÿค Support our mission - Enable us to continue this vital work:

Together, we can stand against destructive practices and fight for the future of the Mediterranean Sea. #ForTheOcean

A first glimpse of #Vernazza for #MountainMonday. In 2017, we took the train from Levanto to Monterosso and then walked to Vernazza in the November heat. But the #scenic view over #CinqueTerre (and the ice cream) was worth it
