The banana plant has been thriving. It sprouted three new leaves since my last report, and a new big one is about to unfurl!
We’ve been setting it out on the deck every non-rainy day, and bringing it in every night. I’ve been giving it 6 cups of water every 5 days or so, and it seems happy with that.
It feels good to see I don’t have a completely black thumb.
In other news, the banana plant seems to have survived the transplanting and even has two new leaves growing!
I trimmed off the yellow/drooping leaves a few days after we initially repotted it.
What should I name her? I have a fiddle leaf fig named Frances McDormand, after the actress.
I think maybe I’ll name her Cate Blanchett.

What fool of a Took buys a tropical plant when they live in a temperate climate?!
Why do they even sell these banana plants - which need approx 10 hrs of sunlight- in the cloudy PNW? How dumb and impulsive do you have to be to buy one of these?

Das Wochenende war lang genug um sich erstmals dem #Ringkrieg zu widmen. Unklarheiten, Regelfehler und ein Gefühl der Überforderung, aber auch schnell viel Spaß. Es war episch, lang und reich an Zitaten! Als Schatten war ich militärisch zu zaghaft, brauchte zu lange um Festungen einzunehmen. #DerEineRing wurde in den Feuern des Schicksalsbergs vernichtet. Mal schauen, wann das Teil wieder auf den Tisch kommt. Es bleibt sicher im Regal, schließlich bin ich kein #FoolOfATook!
