So MAGA is now health conscious, as long as it supports the theories they like (not Vax)?

Considering the federal government is abdicating its responsibility I guess we will get a whole smattering of states taking it on. It will probably be chaos.

Eventually two states will implement conflicting laws, and we will get products that can be sold in one state and not others.

West Virginia Bans 7 Artificial Food Dyes, Citing Health Concerns

At least 20 other states are considering bills restricting the use of certain food dyes and additives.

Red 3 dye, found in candies and processed foods, has been banned by the FDA over links to thyroid tumors and brain toxicity in animal studies, and will be phased out over the next few years. A #cancer researcher explains why the ban comes 35 years after initial concerns. https://theconversation.com/fda-bans-red-3-dye-from-food-and-drugs-a-scientist-explains-the-artificial-colors-health-risks-and-long-history-247757 #Red3 #fooddye
FDA bans Red 3 dye from food and drugs – a scientist explains the artificial color’s health risks and long history

Over 35 years after the first study linking Red 3 to thyroid cancer in rats was published, the US is beginning to wean it out of foods and drugs.

This decision comes in response to a 2022 petition requesting a review of the dye's safety based on its potential to cause cancer in laboratory rats. The FDA’s action is grounded in the Delaney Clause, a part of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) that prohibits the approval of food additives shown to cause cancer in humans or animals.

A food dye that helps give certain sodas and snacks (like Doritos) their hallmark orange hue can temporarily turn biological tissue transparent to the naked eye. Scientists have used the dye, called tartrazine, to see the organs in a mouse’s intact abdomen, glimpse the pulsing vessels surrounding a rodent skull, and to get an exceptionally clear view of muscle tissue through a microscope. Could this method spur new scientific findings? Popular Science has more: https://flip.it/wm.9iW

Scientists make mice's skin transparent w/ food dye

~Think of a crashing wave's opaque bubbles. The change in clarity comes because water & air have different refractive indexes, scattering light, despite each being clear on their own.

Yellow 5—rubbed into skin—makes refractive indexes in tissue more uniform, lets through red & yellow light. Revealed vessels/organs. Human skin's 10x thicker.~
