Home.

25 days, too many states, 2 provinces, a ferry ride, and ~4500 some miles (513 today), and we are home.

Stuff that needed to be out of the van is out, vacuumed the house, grocery list made and order in for pickup tomorrow morning.

At least I have a few days before I go back to work on Monday.

For some reason, today I sit still in the couch, and feel like I should still be moving. Maybe it was all the up and down / twists and turns of US 48 in VA / W VA??

Today was our fun day. Lego Discovery Center in Springfield VA.

Kids seemed to enjoy themselves, and even spent some time talking to a master builder.

After two days of travel from NB ferry, including some interesting travel through NY City along I87 and then I95 (we ate at Wendy's in the Bronx), we are spending today at the Lego Discovery Center in Springfield, VA.

Currently half way across the #BayOfFundy.

Only took 2.5 weeks, but someone finally got stung / bit by something other than a mosquito. Bee or wasp, 5 has a swollen thumb after stung in the pool.

Benadryl liquid, ibuprofen, and Benadryl cream will hopefully keep the swelling down and avoid an outpatient or ER visit.

And then after running some errands this evening, coming out of a store, I saw these amazing clouds as the weather is starting to come in.

All the times I've been to Digby, I never get tired of the view of the ocean from downtown.

Yesterday I had a Donair salad at lunch at the Seabiscuit Cafe (if you are ever in Digby, highly recommend it). Tonight, I had an actual Donair from Recardo's Pizza & Donair.

The salad was a pretty close approximation, honestly. But there was a ridiculous amount of donair meat in my donair tonight.

A good chunk of "Lighthouse Road" on that map is really just gravel, with some decent low spots that had recently been filled by rain.

Looking at the map now, I can see that my father-in-law doesn't really care where the parking lot for the Brier Island lighthouse is, and we just kept going with the Sienna until we couldn't go anymore. Two low spots made some noise on the underside, but there has been no new fluid spots underneath it, so I think we are good.

Yesterday, the in-laws took (or at least navigated for us) a trip out to a very tip spot of the north-western shore of #NovaScotia, the lighthouse on Brier Island.

I had no idea where we were going, as somehow in my 17 years of being married to my spouse, who is from Digby, we'd never made this particular trip.
