Something changed in my #Yijinjing #Qigong session tonight, that I wasn’t expecting—although maybe I should have—for the first time, it triggered a mild euphoria not entirely unlike an overflow of #FireQi yet flowed out from my core more like #WaterQi

I wasn’t in any rush to move on to the next stage of the exercises at the 100 days mark, but it seems most correct to keep pace with the #Qi itself

Edit: just for reference, my 100 days for the first stage of training completed on January 27th; I’ve been maintaining the same practice these past few days anyway, because I find the mild euphoria an intriguing side-effect. Although now I should probably make a point to use it to start the second stage.

I started #TuNaSiBa #Qigong again on Sunday night, since over the weekend my #FireQi kept surging—only this time I’m doing Forms 1–2, and Forms 3–4 on alternating days so as not to drain all my #Qi within 4 days like last week

Feeling much more balanced, energized, and limber this week, so far

#SanTiShi is also going better—really starting to feel the inner strength of the posture while also being a lot more relaxed, which makes it a lot easier to hold for extended periods of time

What a weird time of day for my #FireQi to suddenly start surging.

Did I forget my mid-day still meditation? 🤔

My #FireQi was already surging this morning before even starting #Qigong

So, knowing from experience that the #XingyiQigong set would only make matters worse, I went back to the very very basics and did a full regimen solely of #WaterQi focused forms and stances this morning instead

I’m still trying to remember all the different methods for converting #Qi between #Kan and #Li (and not having much luck searching online or my own library), but in the end I managed a very basic, entry-level #WindPath circulation, and that helped a lot

Dammit my #FireQi is surging again today

#TuNaSiBa may be too exhausting for me to keep practicing yet, but at least it kept my #Qi in perfect balance… (by using everything I had)

#Qigong #XingyiQigong

First impression: “huh, why is my #Qi so perfectly balanced without constant all-day vigilance on my part?”

Second impression: “huh, why am I so wide awake, alert, and focused but so completely relaxed at the same time?”

Third impression: “No really why isn’t my #FireQi surging??”

#Qigong #TuNaSiBa

#Qigong went really well again, both last night and this morning

I think my Xīn and Yì have finally come to an understanding

That being said, my #FireQi is still too high

I’m noticing an overabundance of #FireQi with this method of regulating the emotional mind, requiring constant balancing throughout the day. Not unexpected. But I do need to keep working on my #WaterQi and #LowerDanTian

I suppose I will have to start #Yijinjing training this fall instead of waiting until next spring
