Je réalise un peu tardivement qu'il semble y avoir un gros bug dans la traduction des #métaphores de l'#UI.

"Fichier" pour "File"...

Ça devrait être "Fiche", non ? Fichier, c'est plutôt "Filing Cabinet".

D'autant que certaines #icônes représentant des fichiers le sont plutôt pour des lecteurs (ex. #Atari #GEM ou les projets d'icônes chez #XeroxSPARC).

Du coup, ça devient dur d'expliquer en 2025 ce qu'est un vrai #fichier physique (#FileCabinet) !

I've been reorganizing the file drawer. In this process, I've shredded some old stuff. I've shredded the documentation on the truck that I sold, the documentation on the UTV that I sold, my immigration papers, except for the immigration certificate itself.

"What if..."

I'm much less worried about what-ifs than I used to be.

I thought I might need a second file cabinet, but for now I can avoid buying another one.

Some have asked my method for maintaining #InboxZero every day when I leave work.

Simple. At end of day, I move remaining #email to folders for the day I can deal with it. (Note 1 item in Thursday is something for next week.) Other long-term items go to the #FileCabinet in an appropriate categorical #folder. The numbers indicate e-mails left as new/unread status which means to act soon. Those folders have lots more "read" e-mails for longer storage.

(No Friday folder—we're only open Mon-Thu)
