Well guess what: up until 2020 Amazon proudly sold their facial recognition software (called “Rekognition”) to law enforcement agencies all cross the country. Like every other facial recognition software out there, this system was notoriously bad at accurately identifying minorities, mainly people of color and women (if you have Netflix, there's a whole movie about this called Coded Bias, I highly recommend it). Amazon only stopped for PR reasons at the start of the George Floyd protests, and even then they only issued a “one-year moratorium.... "

"Seit 18 Uhr zeigt eine Kundgebung des Bündnisses ‚Berlin vs. Amazon‘ am Wahnsinns-Bauprojekt des sog. ‚Amazon Tower‘, dass der Konzern in Berlin nicht willkommen ist. In einer breiten Front stellen sich Anwohner:innen, Arbeitnehmer:innen und politisch Bewegte gegen den Konzern und setzten somit ein Zeichen für Arbeitsrechte, Umwelt, Gemeinschaft und Zukunft.
Um 19 Uhr gab es begleitend an der Nordseite des Towers einen ‚Banner-Drop‘. Dafür kletterten zwei Personen am Gerüst in die Höhe und breiteten ein 10 Meter langes Transparent mit der Aufschrift „FIGHT THE TOWER“ aus.
Während die Welt von Mega-Konzernen um uns herum errichtet wird, werden die Menschen, die in ihr leben müssen, immer weiter abgehängt. Wer abgehängt wird, kann auch mal ein Banner aufhängen!"
