Put a simple traffic cone on the bonnet/windscreen of a Waymo, and it becomes instantly and completely inoperable. Cone them all and Google loses a lot of money. This is an act of making the world better...

I'm worried about AI psychosis. Specifically, I'm worried about the psychosis that makes "capital allocators" spend *$1.4T* on the money-losingest technology in human history, in pursuit of a bizarre fantasy that if we teach the word-guessing program enough words, it will take all the jobs.

If you were wondering whether the phone you paid hundreds of pounds for is yours, it’s not. It’s still Apple’s and they decide what you can do with it.

(I’m tapping this out on what will likely be my last iPhone. Hopefully the EU will get its act together so people without iPhones and Android phones can still do basic things like banking and paying for stuff with their phones by then.)
