#WhatWereReading : Joe enjoyed the latest fiction in translation from Akoya, Spanish writer Marta Sanz's wonderfully titled My Clavicle & Other Massive Misalignments (translated by Katie King)
The author deals with middle age & bodily changes in a realistic, but often humorous manner many will recognise. Are these aches and pains serious? They're serious, right? Or are they in her head?
Some medical professionals are helpful, others dismissive, and we realise this is about the way our bodies change in middle age - the aches, the pains, the worry that they signifiy something more, even menopause itself, but tackled in a way that is sympathetic but often humorous.

#WhatWereReading : Joe enjoyed Yasuhiko Nishizawa's The Man Who Died Seven Times (pub Pushkin Press), translated by Jesse Kirkwood (who also translated Matsumoto's Tokyo Express, which we loved).
A family murder mystery with a dash of time-loop; think Knives Out meets Groundhog Day!
