French artist Robert Delaunay (1885-1941) is best loved for his choice of modern subject matter, and the dynamism of his paintings.

“Delaunay dispenses with any reference to the external world in favour of a pure, musical game of colours. The concentric circles of the large disc, distribute non-complimentary colours such as yellows and oranges, and different shades of green, blue and red.”
