Mouse Sky, Princess of RainbowsSome of my loved ones feel bad about their weight. They will call themselves fat as though it's an insult. It's hard for me to articulate how beautiful, how absolutely divine I think their bodies are.
I've been thinking about it a lot lately. I wish I could change society so people stopped using “fat” as an insult. I wish people would stop saying “fat and lazy” like either of those are bad things. There are so many reasons why someone might be fat. There are so many reasons why someone might be lazy. All bodies are beautiful, not just tall skinny ones.
I am aware that I am tall and skinny. I am also unhealthy. I can't stand up for very long (an hour at most) because my body has low sugar reserves. I've passed out many times because of it. People might look at me and think I have healthy habits, but I don't. My body burns through calories too fast, and my executive dysfunction makes it hard to keep up.
Being fat isn't inherently bad, being thin isn't inherently good. I wish I could tell everyone who's been shamed for being fat that they're beautiful. That they're hot. That there are “conventionally attractive” people out there that think they're sexy.
