BUT I encourage everyone reading this to consider volunteering as a poll worker next election… that is assuming we remain a democracy. Working to help people vote, seeing the system from within, and protecting our right to vote is one of the most rewording jobs I’ve had.
I don’t know what the world will look like when I awake on Wednesday, and, honestly, I’m a bit terrified regardless of who wins. If Harris wins, there will be almost immediate unrest in the US, I have little doubt. If Tump wins there will be unrest, although it may take longer.
Either way,The next few months are “going to be wild” and not in the fun way.
For the last three weeks, I’ve been working the polls for democracy.
As a result, I was unable to campaign in any way for candidates. Not speaking my mind on what’s been going on has been a struggle. My natural inclination is to discuss, debate, and argue my belief in a more just world. But helping to oil the gears of democracy was well worth the sacrifice.
The fact is, though, I don’t have anything to say about which candidate you should vote for. If you haven’t yet figured out whether you will be voting for democracy or fascism, then I’m afraid I can’t help you.
Unlike Jesus, I cannot lead the blind to see.
