Looking at job listings in my area, so many low wage jobs, and this area is SUPER expensive to live in, plus bridge fees if you cross a bridge. Makes my little dead end library job seem just fine (despite the bridge toll going up again- $8.50).
I have such feeling about all this, and our $400 heating bill.
Fuck Fastrak (bridge toll) and fuck PG&E (our only energy provider option). Add my age, and gimpy body…. wtf? Turn to crime?
I’m ok, but meanwhile my partner who should be retired, and needs to be retired, is carrying the weight.
Working from home as an elder, you really can’t live in the dark with no heat. It could be worse, but this is cruel.
