StefanyeahUploading an older bind from that time I was almost exclusively listening to the Bifrost Incident by the Mechanisms.
The cover is made with apple leather I was gifted by another bookbinder.
Also did a misthinking when cutting the corners. Which is why the book corners gifted by yet another bookbinder came in very handy, too.

This is my first time attempting to deboss by hand without foiling. The gold and silver you see on the cover is calligraphy ink I tried to paint into the pattern.
Unfortunately, I’ve come to realize I don’t know how to use paintbrushes at all.

The cover is black allure bookcloth from Hollanders. The cover was hand foiled with blue copper-backed foil and gold deco foil using Memory Keepers foil quill. End bands were sewn with two different colors of 4-ply cotton embroidery floss. Cover was designed by me.

Hozier Lyric Book
Trimmed the edges, sacrificed some blood to the bookbinding gods, sewed endbands, and printed the end papers and cover. So far it’s my most successful book trimmed using only a chisel.
Original typeset by me. It includes the newest song “Hymn to Virgil”.

I went all out on this one. It was a LOT of work: Hand painted end papers, original cover design, original typeset (made in MS Word), custom vintage advertisements, hand sewn endbands, and chisel-trimmed fore edge.
And when all was said and done, I found a glaring typo while flipping through the finished product. 😮💨
Oh well. It happens.
