Another thing I like about the #blender talk at #fossbackstagedesign : you have to sell your idea not just to the users, but also to the developers who will be working on it.
That's often the missing piece between foss developers and designers - the developers remain unconvinced that design makes sense, because the designers don't talk to them, we talk at them.
