A ★★★ review of The I Don't Care Girl (1953)

THE I DON’T CARE GIRL (1953) #MitziGaynor #DavidWayne I like director Lloyd Bacon & he delivers on the musical numbers, but the overall arc of the film is erratic and unclear. However, Mitzi Gaynor is stunning and electric both in acting and dancing performances. I would’ve liked David Wayne’s part to have been bigger as he was a delight. Oscar Levant brings his usual solid scathing wit and amazing piano performances. There’s even a mashup medley including Bach and Rossini! This was a biopic based on the life of vaudeville star, Eva Tanguay. I can’t believe I’ve never heard of her
