@crakdown Je viens de voir que la dernière version d'#Ekiga a sept ans ! 😱
#rC3 and #Eventphone are finally a good reason to get into #SIP apps for the #PinePhone. I was not successfully in getting #Ekiga set up (it scales nicely though), next up is twinkle-qt5. I also have #LinPhone desktop installed, but the interface does not work on mobile at all.

Warum zeigt #Firefox mir an, dass die aktuelle #Ekiga Windows Installationsdatei 4.0.1+ ein #Virus ist?

Ist da was dran?

@silver Sorry, I didn't see your reply until just now. I just came back to this because I remembered that #Ekiga still exists. https://www.ekiga.org/

The thing is, I don't really understand what a smartphone is, other than a general purpose computer with a GSM/CDMA module inside it. I could plug a USB 4G modem into my laptop and be able to transmit and receive over those networks. Or I could use a SIP service and be able to call and send SMS messages to the standard phone network without touching 2G/3G/4G networks personally. the 2G/3G/4G networks are little more than long-range WiFi networks that are slow as hell and companies overcharge you for. I know if you're in a rural area sometimes that's all you've got, but other than that I don't see the appeal.

#ekiga and #jitsi are not in #debian, so I'll try #linphone first. #softphone #sip
