By engineering O3-type sodium-ion layered cathodes with a unique structural design, researchers have achieved remarkable results: high power density, energy density of 260 Wh/kg at the electrode level, and impressive cycle life with 80% capacity retention over 700 cycles in full cells. The redox characteristics of this cathode were studied using X-ray absorption spectroscopy #EXAFS measured at #BESSY II

Fast-charge high-voltage layered cathodes for sodium-ion batteries - Nature Sustainability

The authors manipulate two categories of cathodes for sodium-ion batteries for a rational design that combines high energy density with high power density and long cycling life.

Following #ScienceMastodon etiquette, a brief #introduction.

I am responsible for two #EXAFS stations at the #synchrotron #BESSY II operated by the #Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin.

The experiments I supervise are in #energy-materials. These include #battery #materials and materials studied in fundamental research at #photovoltaics.

I am interested in research on static #crystal structures and the dynamic behavior of these structures.
