Now on the #NightTrain to Stockholm. Our departure is postponed indefinitely (!!) while we wait for some passengers from Switzerland. (Good to know for the next time I come from Milan via Basel.) The company is good and I have 8 hours in Stockholm before catching my ferry, so I'm not concerned.

The bistro car is not with us yet, we'll probably recover it in Malmö.

How cold was it last night? Well, it’s -12 outside and here are the ice crystals on the train window inside. My tea bag froze to my cup after I finished my tea.

It’s just on the minus side outside at the moment. If there’s still no heating and we get to Stockholm where it’s -10, will we just get even colder? I didn’t pack my winter sleeping bag, keeping passengers warm should be a pretty basic thing a train does, right?

I don’t even care about the misbehaving toilet anymore - I’ll settle for not freezing.

So, the night train to Stockholm is a bit chilly inside (I have three layers and a hat on), and there is a misbehaving toilet in our sleeping compartment (we have an actual sleeping compartment because it was the same price as everything else 🤷 ).

Not the best start, but hope it gets better from here! And most importantly, warmer...
