Every other week I run the #Drakkenheim D&D 5e campaign for a solo player.
I really enjoy the fast-paced sessions, and the way her character always gets into big shenanigans and yet manages to survive.
Playing solo with a DM you’re already friends with can be a good way to build up self-confidence, a way to try out crazy plans without worrying about the group’s judgement.
Also, as a DM, I feel less pressure than when running games for a group. A win-win!
My year in gaming (online):
11x #drakkenheim #dnd5e (DM)
17x #drakkenheim #levelup5e (DM)
8x #judgesguild #dnd5e (player)
1x #cyphersystem oneshot (player)
1x #dnd5e oneshot (player)
In-person:
2x #shadowdark Ravenloft one-shot (DM)
1x #dnd5e one-shot with @castparty2 (first time playing in-person with strangers!)
The Monsters of Drakkenheim crowdfunding is at almost $850,000 with a week to go.
I don't know why I'm so invested, but I'd really love if they reach a million.

I ran a 3 session Drakkenheim adventure for my regular DnD group and it was so much fun.
A very atmospheric setting, a missing person mystery, and a possibly untrustworthy party patron all worked together really well.
I've been playing D&D on and off for over 20 years now, across 4 different editions. Maybe I've finally graduated from the advice "beginners shouldn't play caster classes" 😅 . I've played martials for my entire D&D career!
Rolling a sorcerer for my next campaign, in #drakkenheim. I'm going into this one with a deliberate goal to break out of my usual patterns.
