this is the first post of mine where I leave feedback for some spontaneously discovered forgotten movie.
**Dragonhunters**
this is a french animation I watched when I was a child, and suddenly remembered it existed yesterday, when my gf saw the screenshots of it in her social media.
so the thing I appreciate most about the movie is it's visual aesthetics. it's liminal, reminds of those 90s CGI animations with whimsical and massive fantasy landscapes, highly influenced by either eastern and medieval architecture. the end of the world location is surprisingly similar to ones that can be found in the Submachine videogame series (I'll do a separate post dedicated to it)
now what I find weird about the movie in bad meaning of the word. it feels like a videogame cutscene, I can't tell exactly why, but it feels this way! the camera angles, some of the motion animations make video game impression. as well as the action scenes as a whole.
anyway, I found the animation cute and it definitely won't ruin good evening. Worth watching for the excellent visuals and creative story telling in some sense.
