Some days it’s “the refreshing feel of fog misting my face” (as “Heroes” video currently on hm pg says). Today it was “the refreshing feel of RAIN misting my face.” So glad we didn’t skip biking today!

We do exercise more caution when biking in rain, especially DOWNHILL, remembering one fall and minor injury we had biking downhill after a rain, when we hit a patch of silt (see 14, “gloves” in https://bikemonterey.org/tips-for-tourists/personal-safety). As we keep braking to slow our descent, we also think of John Caletti, the much loved and very talented Santa Cruz bike builder. (On 7/31/24—rain not a factor—John crashed at high speed while descending Smith Grade when he hit a patch of gravel.)
