Contrary to #Wired magazine’s sarcastic take on Jeff Lawson’s plan to resurrect #TheOnion, asking for $1 donations from readers is an excellent idea. Nothing of substance is free, and The Onion can’t pay its staff with nothing, regardless of how wealthy Mr. Lawson is. $1 from enough readers should be enough to keep the site cost and ad free. And they should stop selling data to brokers.
