James StegallSo we made a heart decision today and brought this little guy home from the #petrescue.
Apparently he was abandoned tied to a pole, and it’s obvious he has some attachment issues. He’s scared of the Chuckit which makes it seem like he was hit with something.
He’s being a little cudddle bug as I’m typing this, so that’s a hopeful sign.
We’re waiting a couple days to get to know him to decide his new name.

MaiYesterday, Mai was introduced to a potential new friend.. This was very much only a "potential!" Mai was unimpressed by this Great Dane's gentle attempt at friendship.. apparently, size does matter - at least when it's approximately the size of a small horse.

I miss Fern. She belongs to rental cabin owners & hung out with us every morning & evening while we were up in Comox Valley. Fern is a super wonderful country #dog - one of the friendliest I've ever met & I've met a LOT of rural dogs. Fern is still looking for us at the cabin. I want to go back there - it was really nice & quite affordable too. The owners are super kind & all around awesome folks too.

This photo is from 11 years ago on the day we met, when he was just 3. I went on to be roommates with his owner for 4 years, and he was a joy of my life and an absolute goofus. It was my privilege to be allowed behind the velvet ropes to be his auntie, and I lit a candle for him last night and said a bittersweet goodbye to a cherished #dogfriend I loved very deeply. #RIP
