Looking for 3–5 people to help dogfood Verja, a community platform I'm building for small discussion spaces.

This isn't a public launch. I need real people to use it for a week or two and tell me where the friction is.

Minimum asks:

• Register and verify email
• Reply to the welcome thread
• Start one thread
• Tell me what was confusing, awkward, or broken

I'm interested in friction, not praise. Honest feedback is the goal.

Looks like the #Gemini team updated the web UI, yesterday:

1. The "import code" event handler's menu-entry got moved from the top-level menu to a sub-menu

2. When you click on it, you get prompted to browse for the directory as normal and you also get prompted to confirm the upload by clicking an "upload" button (also "as normal). However, after you've clicked that button nothing happens: unlike the normal usage, nothing attaches to your prompt-box. Would seem the event-handler isn't working.

3. In such a scenario, I'd find the "Give feedback" option in the web interface. However, the "give feedback" option is currently missing

4. One can usually provoke a "give feedback" pop-up by giving a thumbs-down on one of the #AI's answers. Today, however, the thumbs-down icon changes color, but nothing further happens

5. Ask the AI, "why is the feedback option missing" and it says "your organization probably restricted that functionality. Reach out to your organization's gSuite administrator"

So, given that response from the AI, and the overall need to report the bug, I reach out to our gSuite administrator. "We didn't change anything" is the utterly-expected reply I got from them. They also note that, when they check their support forums, there's a lot of complaints about last night's Gemini web UI update.

On a guess, #Google is #DogFooding. They let the AI either write or validate the interface updates, but didn't actually do any user-acceptance testing (UAT) before deploying the UI changes.

The skeptic in me suspects that their #UAT group was one of the groups that suffered partial or complete head-count loss in one of their "we gotta focus more on AI" RIFs.
