4. Scannen? Notebook von Mutter geholt, ebenfalls mit #LinuxMint. HP Scanner wird von #DocumentScanner erkannt und scannen möglich
--> Liegt nicht an Linux und nicht am HP Gerät
--> Muss an Konfiguration von Vaters Desktop liegen.
--> Hatte mal nach dieser Anleitung unten die HP Treiber installiert.
--> Mit "apt install ipp-usb sane-airscan" IPP wieder aktiviert, alle Drucker gelöscht, Rechner neu gestartet, Drucker wieder installiert: Scannen geht 😀

1/3 OK, Scannen geht wieder. Fehlersuche lief so ab:
1.Drucken? Geht über WLAN und USB
--> Gerät angeschlossen
2. Scannen? HP Scanner wird von #LinuxMint #DocumentScanner erkannt, scannen geht aber nicht, Fehlermeldung "Scannen fehlgeschlagen, Verbindung zum Scanner konnte nicht hergestellt werden"
3. Scannen? Flachbettscanner von Cannon angeschlossen, wird erkannt und scannen möglich
--> Liegt wohl am HP Gerät da scannen prinzipiell möglich.

Today I’ve tried to detect edges (with 4 corners) of a Document Page inside a photo using OpenCV.
After 6 hours I’m giving up!
Let there be a shadow, a finger/Hand, some bright spot on a table or in the background … and even if it’s “clean” but real world - no f*ing chance to reliable detect the Document! The detected area is either to big or it cuts of 1/5th of the page in a corner or it’s completely off. Tried multiple approaches. I’m giving up. #developer #DocumentScanner

I‘m using #dotnetMaui to call this but that doesn’t matter. I found this issue on flutter discussions too and here at Google itself.
That’s a native problem and I can only hope that someone knows a trick or hack to fix this - as Google doesn’t seem to care 😩

Sometimes a document is too long to fit in a flatbed scanner's platen. Scan it twice, at different parts so there is an overlap. Then you can use a tool like https://github.com/ivangermes/SmartImageMerger to stitch the images together. It is cross-platform and works on Windows, Linux, Android and the Web. I've only tested it on Linux though.
