Renee DiRestaWrote about this situation in the book. There was a whole debate about how Twitter should moderate things like #DiedSuddenly at the time, how to add context to claims like McCullough’s. Remember,“labeling is censorship!” had started to get an awful lot of pickup on the right…
McCullough, described in this thread, was one of the amplifiers of #DiedSuddenly; he wrote a letter to the editor in a medical journal claiming 1,598 athletes had suffered cardiac arrest. It was called a study on Tucker Carlson - he had McCullough on to discuss Damar Hamlin.
