Been experimenting with Mac Dictation (not the one for texts and short sentences - rather the Accessibility>Voice Control version).

It is very close to the capabilities of Dragon Professional. The only lack seems to be retaining the audio, and transcription from audio. I may be able to manage with that.

Dragon still works fine, but is Windows only, and the sole reason I retain a Windows 11 PC. This could finally set me free from MicroSloth.

Will restrict myself to it this month and see how it works out. Very accurate so far, even using the built in MacBook mic.

I am keen to hear from anyone here who uses dictation or transcribing software/services that do a good job of transcribing sound files (WAV or MP3) into text documents.

I am heading into a contract that will require me to do 30+ interviews and these will need transcribing for theming and needs analysis purposes in a fairly short time frame.

I use a MacBook and a Zoom digital recorder with MicroSD cards for storage and transfer.

Any and all advice, experiences or recommendations would be appreciated.
