Oh man, #DickFosbury passed! I grew up in Medford, Oregon (where he started his track and field career as a high schooler), so I heard a lot about Fosbury and his game-changing high jump technique, the "Fosbury Flop," when I was younger.

It's not every athlete who can drastically expand what's possible in their chosen sport, but Fosbury sure did. He was an innovator, an Olympian, and a legend whose name will never be forgotten by those who compete in the high jump. RIP, Dick Fosbury.
