I found a new beach area on the #hudsonriver at #BeaconNY today. I was walking the dog at #DenningsPoint and noticed a path going down to the river. Hmmm, how come I never noticed this one before? Maybe i did but this beach area is usually under water. I don't know, but it was a fun find on a nice afternoon.

An unexpected find! Today was cold and blustery. Snow & ice recently melted but the ground is still frozen. I wanted to walk out to #DenningsPoint but the trail is closed for the winter to protect nesting birds. Wandering around the back of the old brick works, I noticed a signs pointing towards an eagle viewing blind. After a short walk through the overgrown, former industrial marshland, I came across this shelter which offers a protected and safe place to view eagles. The American Bald Eagle was once nearly extinct in the #HudsonValley but they're making a good comeback. Will have to return with my binoculars one day.
