#DebConf2020 was showing short videos from attendees, a couple of which involved tea, for which a few of us were happy

I mentioned #TeaGL for #SeaGL in November

We have had a tea time at the conference the last couple years

We can't do that with a virtual conference this year, but we have some good plans that we're not quite ready to announce

During the Debian Local Group #DebConf2020 talk today we discussed different ways for local groups to succeed

this included getting the word out

I mentioned #gettogether, which is a Free Software events board

https://gettogether.community/series/14/floss-stammtisch/

We got at least one new group out of it, so please join if you're in the #Munich area and interested in Debian

We also mentioned #Mobilizon still under development by #Framasoft

FLOSS Stammtisch

The [Free Software Stammtisch](https://www.LuftHans.com/Free_Software_Stammtisch) is a social environment for GNU, Linux, *BSD and Free Software enthusiasts. We start arriving at 19:00 and hang out until at least 22:00, with several of us often there until closing time. There are quarterly ( Januaries, Aprils, Julys and Octobers ) [jobs night](https://gettogether.community/series/30/floss-jobs-networking-event/) events before Stammtisch starting at 18:00. Getting to know others ( networking ) has always been part of Stammtisch ( the conference hallway track without the conference ). The [jobs night](https://gettogether.community/series/30/floss-jobs-networking-event/) events came about due for requests for a more directed approach to job networking from both hiring employers and those seeking new jobs. It was therefore natural to create standalone events that merge into Stammtisch. Januaries and Julys host resume events while Aprils and Octobers have jobs networking events. The Free Software Stammtisch will be a virtual event at least through the end of Summer 2020. Currently we're using a hosted Big Blue Button instance. See meeting comments for connection details. We are using PLUG's draft code of conduct https://pad.sfconservancy.org/p/PLUG_CoC_draft

The Power of Free from John Maddog Hall, last talk at #DebConf2020 now, now, now

The world is being wracked by stresses we could not even imagine a year ago. Global pandemic, massive economic downturns, social unrest, political unrest, yet Debian goes on

This could be the time for Free Software and its communities to come into the limelight, with employee-owned, socially-conscious companies practicing sustainable business models

Why Is Free Software Like a Player Piano? by John "maddog" Hall in 2 hours ( 22:00 UTC ) at #DebConf2020

There is a not-so-definite link between Free Software and the pianola, also known as a “player piano”

maddog has been collecting automated musical instruments for years, and has noticed, and documented, this relationship

This talk will be illustrated with some of his instruments and will also supply sound clips from his collection

Cloud images BoF is next at #DebConf2020

"This is the usual cloud image BoF, where the Debian cloud team discuss the maintenance of the Debian cloud images. The Debian cloud team, indeed, maintains official Debian cloud images for Azure, AWS, GCE and OpenStack/Generic, through a unified build system."

Reproducing Bullseye in practice is next up @ #DebConf2020

give an update on the state of Reproducible Builds for the upcoming Debian “bullseye” release, focusing on the promise of enabling anyone to independently verifying the binaries

current status of the project together with a list of bugs preventing the above promise from being reality and sparking some work together to fix at least some of the bugs during DebConf 20 online
