The first Thursday of every month I host an online Death Cafe from 6-8pm Pacific Time. Next one is April 3rd.

This is open to everyone who is interested in listening and sharing about the topic of death. Each from their own unique wisdom, without advice giving nor cross talking.

Death Cafe | Rewild Portland

Living fully through death awareness, one conversation at a time Death Cafe is a free monthly meetup held online via Zoom the first Thursday of the month from 6 pm to 8 pm PT. This is not a class or lecture but a frank, open discussion about death, dying, and bereavement, where people are listened

@morekindness Thanks to all for your comments on terramation (spell check does not think this is a word). I've added a CW for #DeathTalk

I'm curious, my fellow #deathcare folks, how do we feel about the term "Tadophile" ?

For me, it feels exploitative somehow, but I cannot put my finger on why! I understand graveyard enthusiasm/enthusiasts (because same) but tadophile/tombstone tourism feels... icky.

Curious to hear other perspectives and thoughts!!

Hello! My name is Dáire and I'm an artist and palliative care/end of life HCA. I am here to talk about death, life, and everything in between. Let's start a dialogue demystifying dying!

Covering:

🌻 Death
🌻 Illness
🌻 Grief
🌻 Advocating for patients and carers
🌻 End of Life care
🌻 Funerals
🌻 Rituals

Let's talk about lacrima mortis, or tears at the moment of death! ⤵️ #deathtalk

During the dying process, we often see people keeping their eyes open, at least a little, for a long period of time, usually with a "fixed" stare. This means, just staring usually directly ahead, with no other eye movement.

This happens because it actually takes muscle to hold your eyes closed or open!

This time next week, Sunday November 20th, I'm going to be reading and talking at Lifting The Lid International Festival of Death and Dying with my friends at Queer Death Stories. Online event, so you can watch from the comfort of home, from my sofa to your sofa, see you there lovelies Xx
