MC POV: Something I never leave home without.

Liesel: “I’ve always got my map book with me, to mark down new locations while I’m exploring the fields and forests.

And I suppose Ludvig is always with me as well, but that’s as much his idea as mine. He’s headstrong, even for a goat, and I think he likes exploring as much as I do.”

Dorothea: “See this thing hanging on my neck? It goes wherever I go, and for a damn good reason. There’s a demon in it, and unless he decides one day to trek on back to Hell of his own accord, he’s gonna be right here around my neck where he can’t hurt anyone. ‘Cause I sure as hell ain’t letting him out.”

Bethany: “Something I never leave home without? Books, I guess. I’ve always got at least a few paper ones in my backpack and a bunch on the tablet (my emergency stash).

Oh, and these sneakers are the only shoes I ever wear, so I guess they count. Ha!”

#WritingWonders #DayEight : MC POV: What is something you never leave home without?

Maybe not never, but very rarely do I go anywhere without Toto.

He's been with me since I was fifteen, and he was the first real family I've had since my mom died when I was ten.

Sure, Aunt Em and Uncle Henry had been taking care of me for almost a year by then, but they took me in out of a sense of obligation, not because of any actual affection. They were nice, and treated me well, but they didn't really feel like family.

So, I take Toto with me wherever I can. I don't like being away from him.

It took a while to train him, but he's gotten pretty good at staying quiet when he needs to. I can take him to the lab, or a class, and he sits under a desk and nobody notices.
