#music #you #spotify https://social.tunecore.com/linkShare?linkid=occb8FuueUijruzgKGDYug

HawaiiWorms – Kiosk 67

Fascinating distillation and resynthesis of the elements of goth rock and dark pop into an icy, alienated final form.

XPQ-21 – Dance The Devil

Dance The Devil” is a brand-new release by XPQ-21, an outstanding solo project operated by Jeyênne, a longstanding German producer, singer, and raver. It’s his first piece of work in 2025, arriving as an appropriate follow-up to “Where Minds Collide,” an exceptional track released last year in collaboration with Laura Friedland, which you should also check out as soon as possible. Still, his latest composition arrives with many innovations in songwriting, composing, performing, arranging, and producing, showcasing a natural progression of an already incredible artist. Throughout this composition, XPQ-21 explains that hell is not a place, but something we all carry within ourselves, and the only way out is to look straight to your heart and face your fears. Lyrically, “Dance The Devil” carries a profound message that will immediately resonate with the broader audience. Sonically, there are a lot of things going on, and XPQ-21 used various approaches, different techniques, and many complementary music genres to depict a luxuriant sonic imagery. The song carries all the fundamental elements of darkwave music, but if you dig deeper under the surface, you’ll notice how some of the finest properties are borrowed from EDM, IDM, synthwave, goth, post-punk, dark pop, and many electronic subgenres lurk around. XPQ-21 uses all these additional sonic ingredients as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details to additionally uplift his music to an entirely new level while simultaneously remaining loyal to the primary sonic direction. The artist simultaneously blends qualities that meet all the trends in contemporary music production with subtle touches of nostalgia that immediately evoke the eighties music, an era when particular styles he explored ruled the airwaves. He poured heart and soul into this track, and that’s vividly hearable, as his dedication to the craft shines from thoughtful arrangements to the outstanding performance. Therefore, these experimentations with various approaches, different techniques, and complementary styles resulted in a catchy, memorable, engaging track that will immediately appeal to anyone who appreciates cleverly assembled and flawlessly performed music.

As soon as you press play, you’ll notice all the experience, knowledge, and skill invested into each section of this song. XPQ-21 does not joke around with his music, and that’s vividly hearable. “Dance The Devil” arrives with a perfect structure, packed with many profoundly detailed segments, brilliant ideas, and marvelous orchestrations. At first, you’ll notice how his voice serves as a centerpiece, elevating everything to new heights, commanding attention, and leading listeners on an epic journey through an expansive sonic universe. His whispery, nearly baritone voice seamlessly balances low, mid, and high notes, emphasizing everything he intended with this composition. Besides decorating all those segments and orchestrations, these vocal harmonies contribute more than necessary emotional depth and complexity to an already intricate structure. In the meantime, the synths play a significant role in shaping such a perfect backdrop for all the vocals to shine upon. You’ll hear all those interplays between catchy, addictive, hypnotic, and irresistible leads, themes, melodies, and harmonies on one side, while the other brings chord progressions, pads, and other sonic maneuvers. It’s nearly mindblowing how all these layers articulate together without overwhelming each other, proving that XPQ-21 thought about everything while writing, composing, arranging, and producing this composition. Of course, this track wouldn’t sound this good without the rock-solid rhythm section. You’ll notice how all those vividly hearable, perfectly performed, intricate, warm-sounding basslines rumble beneath the synths, offering more than necessary heaviness, clarity, and depth while acting like a binding element between the mentioned instrumentations and rhythmic sequences. XPQ-21 also paid a lot of attention while programming all the beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics. These rhythmic patterns keep everything in line while dictating groove and pace, adding more groove and detail to the overall ambiance.

XPQ-21 has created a darkwave masterpiece. On “Dance The Devil,” his tremendous experience, knowledge, creativity, talent, and skills are on full display, showcasing his fascinating songwriting, composing, and producing abilities. It’s one of those songs that pushes boundaries of the genre to the max while simultaneously implementing vital elements of many complementary styles. “Dance The Devil” proves that darkwave music can still sound fresh, unique, and exciting, as it should be in 2025. Therefore, you should immediately place it on your music radar. The single is available on all streaming platforms. Do not miss it!
