I realized yesterday that -- while I was familiar with the singles 'Sweet Dreams' and 'Love is a Stranger', and enjoy both of those -- I had never really listened to the album, 'Sweet Dreams'.
So, I have now.
It was strange, not bad, really, but the songs that sounded like what I expected Eurythmics songs to sound like were not as interesting as the ones that didn't sound like what I expected. There is a lot of 80s synthpop, which isn't is good as I had hoped, but also a lot of funk, which surprised me, and was interesting as bits and parts, but not really fulfilling when inserted into songs.
And -- frankly -- 'Wrap It Up' was a very odd choice. It's not bad, but I kept thinking, 'Huh? Why?'
I listened to it four or five times today, but probably won't again.
