Pending rupture in the BitCoin trade? $8B in index outflows maybe at stake.
Strategy (MSTR), the largest public holder of bitcoin (BTC) is talking with with index provider MSCI over a possible de-listing from major equity benchmarks. A decision is expected by Jan. 15, and removal could lead to outflows of up to $8.8B if other index providers follow suit. https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2025/12/03/strategy-faces-possible-msci-index-removal-threatening-billions-in-outflows #BTC #BitCoin #MSTR #MSCI #BlockChain #Investing #Debt #DATs #DigitalAssets #Crypto #CryptoCurrencies
Good overview of Digital Asset Treasuries (DATs).
Recently all the rage, DATs have been taking a bit of beating recently. While DATs are operating businesses which typically use leveraged financing to accumulate crypto currencies, they have created some "interesting financial engineering possibilities".
Some argue these structures are fancy ponzy schemes, or at a minimum exhibit Ponzi like dynamics, where earlier shareholders benefit as long as there is incoming equity demand, but returns can evaporate or reverse sharply if sentiment turns and the asset premium collapses.
A key pending issue is DATs may get de-listed from major market indexes if they become classified as an investment vehicles and not as operating businesses. Watch this space!

Need some #yegtransit #DATS #disability advice.
My elderly mother does not want to (and probably shouldn't) drive in the winter. My lives in a care home halfway across the city. It's a 20-25 minute car ride between them, but looking at transit options, transit would be awful - 45-65 minutes, at least 2 transfer, including crossing 101 St and 111 Ave. In the winter. With a cane or walker.
CAN she take transit? Yes. Does this exclude her from using DATS? Probably.
Is it reasonable to expect an elderly person with limited mobility to take a 45-65 minute transit commute as described above, both ways, 2-3 time/week?
Any advice or suggestions?
(I really wish they hadn't place my dad where they did, it's too far. 😞)
