D R Evans#mfj #cushcraft WARC dipole on the ground after two hours' work up the tower. SWR suddenly jumped from ~1:1 to ~2:1 on all bands a couple of weeks ago, and SWR v. freq. curves changed shape substantially. No idea what happened, but now I can inspect it for anything obvious. Sadly, this antenna has been a lot of trouble in the decade I've had it :-( #hamradio
Diane Bruce VA3DBI'm getting some tower work done soon as my 6m beam lost an element. Looks like I will have to replace the beam and not repair 😞 I am also pondering replacing my ancient TA33jr with a Cushcraft MA5B as the 33jr might be overlapping my neighbours lot 😞 and having the extra WARC dipoles might be nice. Anyone have this antenna? I'm a little concerned about how it would stand up to ice and snow up here. Any comments?
