I *just* cleaned that bird bath, lmao
No idea where the crows keep getting the bread, but yesterday they visited with a chunk twice. It doesn't look like someone's feeding them, the piece is too big (i assume). My guess is someone's unsecured compost or food waste.
My favourite part today though is that the pair visited. I'm 99% certain that the first and second crow in this video are different.
Having observed the crows in my backyard for a bit of time now, there are definitely a pair that hang out. Often while one is at the bath, the other is perched on the fence. A few times they've come down together which is delightful to see.
Not sure why they kept looking down between their legs, but it was funny!

I saw a crow this morning eating a discarded pack of crisps. The end of its beak was completely yellow from the crisp dust!

I swear I am telling you the truth. The sequence of events was this:
attempt to make crow friends for several months with peanuts in the shell; no crow-sign, no success
find myself communing with nature for self-care months later (~4 days ago); notice a murder of crows on powerlines that seem to be aware of me
rush to the peanuts, put stash in clear sight of crows; make myself scarce
2 nights ago, discover Free Little Library a few streets over
Last night, return to the library, bring home 3 books including CYBERCROW
