I just finished #CrossroadsOfRavens, the latest #AndrzejSapkowski #Witcher novel, about Geralt’s first foray into witcherdom. The story builds like a Glenn Gould fugue, and I found the ending powerful, although it was odd to experience such a young and green Geralt.
Am so enjoying easing back into reading actual books. Will probably donate this hardcover to the library in the New Year once I’ve re-read it another four or five times.
Crossroads of Ravens, Sapkowski (2025)

Should you read this? Well …

PAIRKO

It starts with a "folk ballad" and the first words are "Darkness surrounds, a fell wind is blowing" - I feel like Sapkowski might be having fun with the bits CDPR added and did a "It's getting dark. Wind's howling".

I've read other things where I thought "Is that a game reference?!" so it might not be a far fetched thought. And he's a mischievous fucker, I wouldn't put it past him :)

I feel a little more relaxed now than for the whole last month (plus awake and low on brain weasels), so I'm finally going to dive into the new Witcher novel (prequel Crossroads of Ravens).

I've read SO many good things about it, I've been SO looking forward to it, and now FINALLY I can indulge a little!
