The world needs more of these! They’re called Wildlife Crossings, and the largest one in North America just opened in Colorado!

They’re essentially bridges or tunnels made specially for animals to cross busy roads safely.

And the good news is, both Democrats and Republicans are now pushing to make wildlife crossing funding permanent nationwide!

And this is a big deal, as each year more than 1 million vehicles collide with large animals in the U.S., resulting in $8 billion in damages, injuring about 26,000 people and killing roughly 200 more.

Wildlife crossings reduce these collisions by more than 90% and research from Banff National Park shows they cut wildlife-vehicle collisions by 80% overall, or 96% for elk and deer specifically.

The world’s largest crossing is currently being built in California, and over in New Zealand, they created tunnels to allow penguins to pass safely under busy roads, and the Netherlands has built aqueducts so that fish can migrate upstream.

Showing there’s always a solution in each corner of the world.
