This morning's #workout #music is from the great Maalem Mahmoud Guinia in a high fidelity performance. I first got into gnawa back in the early 90s and it is hard to name a better practitioner than Guinia. His album with Pharoah Sanders is, of course, a classic of #jazzFusion and #CrossCulturalCollaboration. His album Colours of the Night (release by @hivemindmarc in 2017) is probably my favorite. Calm joy through sound.
