I’m overall pleased with the outcome and the students’ ability & willingness to try using visual language, particularly as this is outside their usual academic writing. Some beautifully sensitive pieces! My commentary is in English, but their work is in Italian, but presumably online automatic translation could help them sharing the blog w/friends? #comics #visualMethods #visualSociology #geography #creativeGeography

A gorgeous time in Cagliari teaching comics & geography at the Università degli Studi, spending time with colleagues, meeting local comic artist Marco Tanca, and absorbing local traditions and visual cultures.

I'm a cultural geographer working on a book for the RGS-IBG book series on the aesthetics of nonauthoritarian authority. I also lead a participatory action research project exploring gender, the body, and cultures of care in the favelas of RIo de Janeiro.
