update - solved by @fskornia - it's a "presser foot screw".. ha!

fellow sewing machine nerds: i am resurrecting a Pfaff Select 1546 from the dead - a thrifting find last week. after 20+ hours of repair work, the machine is nearly done.

i have one last job: i bought a replacement presser foot attach/release assembly. it's supposed to screw into the top feed as shown, unfortunately the assembly didn't come with the screw! (pic 2, shown in red)

can anyone help me identify the screw? i couldn't find it in either the user or service manuals, and web searches are only showing screws for other machines. it would help to know even what the screw is called at this location.

Has anyone tried making sewing machine parts for antique or vintage #sewing machines on a 3-d printer? What part(s) did you make and how did they work? #VintageSewingMachines #SewingMachines #SewingMachineParts #3DPrinting #AntiqueSewingMachines

Finally got back to the sewing machine. Not much to see picture wise, but I've replaced all the wiring as well as the speed control pedal. I found a machine on ebay, cheap, that had a better motor (far less arcy-sparky) and swapped motors. The color, suprisingly, isn't an exact match but it gets it working until I can rebuild the original if I decide I care that much.

Dug into the sewing machine a bit more - the light needs new wiring, it’s cracked inside. So far, the motor wiring still looks good at least. I managed to get the service manual so that shoudl be helpful.

I decided I’m going to use power pole connectors to rebuild the power cables. They're fit for purpose and I have them on-hand.

Is there a bubble of sewists that use vintage machines?

I've just restored my grandma's old Singer 66 from around 1935 back to function.

I learned sewing as a teenager, then did a bit of it in my early 20ies but mostly gave up after that - my machine was a very cheap one from a discounter and I couldn't really make it cooperate

With my old beauty I just love how meditative treadling is and I can see myself taking up #sewing again

It doesn't have a lot of stitches: straight, zigzag, hem stitch, triple zigzag, that's it.
But that's enough for me. And with some occasional oiling and dusting, the thing is as good as indestructible.

I just want to see whether the right feet can help with my issues (esp. with knits), and keep me using this familiar little device.

The Singer 66K parts (driving belt, bobbins, bobbin winder ring) arrived!

The machine now officially sews when I push the foot pedal. I haven't tried winding a bobbin yet, I need to go over the manual again first to figure out where the thread goes.

Anyway, here's a short video showing how it sews and how incredibly loud it is at the moment. After filming this I oiled every hole I could find  so I'll see if it sounds better tomorrow.
