Another no. 1 spot on my #HugoAwards ballot, the novella Thornhedge by T. Kingfisher :) It's a brilliant and (literally) immersively magical reimagining of Sleeping Beauty that manages to be intensely comforting despite some gruesome plot points, cruelty and seas of loneliness in the protagonist. The most astonishing thing to me is that the many-toothed lake monsters who raised her were the main source of coziness and comfort. I loved it.

I #amReading @vicorva ‘s #TheOldGoatAndTheAlien, and though it’s still early on I’m falling in love with the characters and world, from the dreamy descriptions of the fantastical scenery to the whimsical, lovable animals that populate this world. Yet the dynamics of this dreamy world are also amazingly relatable, including fraught family relations, neurodivergence, and bureaucracy! This is gearing up to be another unforgettable work of #CozyFantasy / #CozySFF from Veo and I can’t wait to read more.
