The guy is currently working for #ErnstAndYoung. AIUI this company is another of the Price Waterhouse Coopers #PWC global mega-corporation auditing +outgrowths type of companies.

I see big business being heavily involved in the current #LetItRip #CovidForTheeNotMe approach to Covid. And very capable of covering up disasters with metrics, as the US military executive managers did in Afghanistan.

So far, bad.

I have an awful, growing suspicion that governments want people to act as if Covid was over.
They might be doing this trying to; safeguard the economy, reduce the likelihood of severe civic disorder, reduce the risk of mental illness caused by isolation, and they might even be gambling on getting some imagined version of herd immunity to happen

EDIT: Shaula in reply has listed 3 stronger reasons. Read them pls

@bflipp
Weird yes.

And yes there are optimistic scenarios where deaths are around 300K per year until another aerosol pandemic arrives.

The unbelievable fantasy explanation is that nonRWNJ governments have good evidence that taking reasonable steps to safeguard the public will result in RWNJs being first elected and then stripping all public health safeguards from the system.

It's is important that you participate in the economy at pre-Covid levels. Covid prevention measures and warnings lessen that possibility.

We, on the other hand, have important work to do and so must protect ourselves from Covid.

2.
Is Steven Phillips and his family going to be at the same risk of repeated infections as the average American?
Will he have average medical care?
Will his workplace have #CleanAir filters?
Or is he doing some version of #CovidForTheeNotMe and #CovidPrivilege ?

Treat the following with caution. I am not an expert in the field.

Joining the dots of the governments' responses has me thinking:
They want everyone* to get vaccinated, or get Covid, or both.
Except for the vulnerable. But while they can theoretically protect (but not in practice - see AU aged care deaths) the elderly in aged care, they can't protect vulnerable folk who are active in the community - though they claim to.

*But also they do #CovidForTheeNotMe
