A few weeks ago, the Australian government quietly updated its COVID-19 vaccination guidelines. Most of us are only eligible for boosters every 12 months now, instead of every 6 months.

I'm immunocompromised but I'm not "severely immunocompromised" according to the government's strict definition. I have to mask and socially distance as covid could trigger a lifelong disability for me. I depend on those vaccines to keep me safe.

I feel like we're being hung out to dry again.

It's 7 days since COVID. I'm coughing wildly due to asthma exacerbation. I test +ve on RAT but hospital emergency "not treating you as infectious" because it's day 7. Seems pretty ridiculous to expose very sick people to the chance of getting COVID from me.

Edit: officially post viral cough, not asthma. Treatment vast amounts Symbicort. As long as I get enough oxygen into my blood, massive coughing & associated sprained muscles etc are "minor" and largely untreatable

Masking prevalence: Supermarket mall, Saturday midday, Australia.

One one person wearing a mask - me. Once through Covid was enough.

40 X 5 = 200

+200 humans died of Covid last week in Australia.
This has resulted in no change of public health measures by the state and federal govs.
The deaths, along with next week's, and the weeks going forward are treated as the product of well functioning federal and state public health systems.

But build a experimental submersible and take 4 willing passengers with you and KA-BBBOOOEY, you get cared about.

I acknowledge your emotional restaint.

I won't express my feelings beyond wondering who had lied to the child about online learning never happening again, and looking aghast at plans to send a child from a Covid infected environment repeatedly to a cancer treatment centre.
I hope that public health education is returned quickly to the school curriculum.

The Telegraph is a danger to the community.

The management of #COVIDAU in Australia is over. Neither side of politics is willing to do what is necessary to manage the pandemic. In their minds, Covid is definitely over. No amount of voicing that #CovidIsntOver will change that.
I was a little bit worried that #CanCon might have changed venue since #COVIDAU, but all the gamers getting on to the tram have assuaged that concern.
