If this "let it rip" policy is well based on medical and scientific advice then that advice must present a grim or dire outlook.
Without transparency about what the advice is I am left thinking they have decided to roll the dice, gamble with the public's health, in the hope of saving businesses and employment in industries like entertainment, hospitality and tourism.

The governments knew what they were doing.
They need to explain why they did it.
A new analysis using US Department of Veterans Affairs databases showed that reinfection is associated with increased risk of all-cause mortality, hospitalization and a wide range of long COVID complications in individuals who have had SARS-CoV-2 compared to those with no reinfection.
