A week ago I stumbled upon Charlotte Dymond’s grave in Davidstow Churchyard. Murdered in 1844, she haunts Cornwall still. Love, jealousy, injustice; and a ghost in the mist. Some voices refuse to be silenced. #CharlotteDymond #CornwallHistory #TrueCrimeUK
The Eye Well (or Bree Shute Well) in Bodmin—steeped in history and once famed for healing troubled eyes. The name "Bree" comes from the Cornish word for hill.
The water here was once used by locals and even considered “fairly good” by a 19th-century report… though it turned out to be highly contaminated and possibly fatal. Sadly, the water today doesn’t look much better—I certainly wouldn’t fancy a drink!
