trying to compose, with what I call a "seed", these days. Basically I just pick 4-5 notes that fit well together (arranged in a defined order; in 1 bar) and use them for soundtracks (in a game for example).
In other words this is kinda like a motif and is supposed to help you make soundtracks that fit together.

One question for music composers: how do you work with leitmotifs inside your favourite DAW (regardless of the DAW you use)?
What I'm doing myself is the following: I work on a single project file (in Logic) with multiple tracks and different sounds/instruments that are muted, with all the specific leitmotifs I want to use, so I can just copy & paste from track to track. But I'm sure there must be a better way for doing so. Any help?
My dream is to compose music for film. To do that, I need some kind of equipment where I can match video, time codes and sequencer tracks. What would I need?
I used Cubase 2.0 on Atari in the 1990s. Since then, I have been away from the business of arranging and composing music apart from Musescore.
Look, Dad, I can walk!
A couple of years ago I tried to find a new way of composing music, "Philip Glass meets British progressive rock on jazz trio". I started with a basic harmonic and a rythmic pattern of 4+3/8. I added a simple melody and tried to keep it as simple as possible, yet interesting.
