Lately I've been feeling very nostalgic for Sid Meier's Civilization IV.  

I am aware of the problematic aspects that plague this series - especially the earlier titles - and, really, the entire Historical 4X genre of games.
And yet, I can't help but look back fondly at the many many hours I spent playing the game with my brother; at how much I was able to learn about different peoples and cultures that I would never have known about otherwise; at the long sessions that had me playing until the wee hours of the night.
